On Friday, September 8th, Prism Club had a great time with a paint-along session led by Farrah and her assistant, Lindsay. The Prism coordinators and volunteer art instructors worked hard to turn the church into a makeshift studio, arranging tables with canvases, easels, and pre-prepped paint palettes. The example painting sat at the front of the room displaying a rainbow beam shining down from the storm clouds and reflecting on the surface of the water.
Prism-goers grabbed sandwiches and fresh fruit snacks before settling at their chosen tables. Love, laughter, and conversation filled the room as friends reconnected and newcomers found their spots. Some participants playfully expressed nervousness, while others chaotically embraced the artistic challenge. Overall, a strong sense of camaraderie prevailed.
After a delightful moment of fellowship and fun, Farrah took the lead, guiding us through the artistic process. She patiently explained the use of brushes and palettes, initiating our journey by instructing us to paint the canvas with water. This received a chorus of relieved giggles, cleverly reassuring us we “couldn’t mess this up.” Once we overcame that initial hesitation, there was no turning back.
Step by step, color by color, we all embarked on our artistic journey, each creating a unique masterpiece. Seeing the joy in both kids and adults as they looked at their artwork was heartwarming. This evening undoubtedly proved to be another successful chapter in Prism’s history.

Art offers a creative outlet and a platform for self-discovery, but it also demands vulnerability, which can be daunting. It was their expert guidance and encouragement that helped us express our creativity and paint with a little more self-love.
